These a just a few examples of the more than 100 pieces
of Bob's legislation that have been passed into law.

HB 241 – Campaign Funds – Prohibits the conversion of campaign funds to personal use.

HB 1570 - Information on nosocomial infections – Creates a system for reporting infections acquired while a patient is in the hospital (nosocomial infections).

HB 4 - Elections; form of ballots; political party names on ballots – Allows political party ID to be listed on election ballots for all statewide candidates.

HB 1667 - Technology and biotechnology investment incentives – Creates a research and development tax credit on the amount spent by the taxpayer on an eligible research and development activity.  The maximum credit is $100,000 per year.

HB 1127 - Certificate of public need – Permits a certificate of need (the enabling state authority) to be considered for a continuing care facility established as a co-op care facility where a retiree is able to acquire a co-op (ownership) interest rather than non-ownership in a continuing health care facility. (This allowedAtlantic Shores to be built.)

HB 1137 - Conflict of Interest Acts; prohibited conduct; penalties – Prevents former members of the General Assembly, Cabinet-level appointees, and senior government employees from returning to lobby government for one year after leaving office.  

HB 2178 – Department of Environmental Quality enforcement – Requires that the DEQ consistently enforce the laws, regulations, and policies that apply to permit and certificate holders regardless of whether the facility is a public or private entity. 

HB 1702 - Penalty for driving while intoxicated – Increases the minimum fines for first, second, and third offense DUI convictions.

HB 511 - Technology needs Department of Taxation – Authorizes the Tax Commissioner and General Services to enter into public-private partnerships to address technology needs for all branches of government. 

HB 1524 - Reporting radioactive materials – Requires immediate reporting to the State Department of Health and Police when radioactive materials cannot be accounted for within 24 hours. 

HB 915 - Medicaid; estimates forecasts of expenditures – Allows DMAS in cooperation with the Department of Planning and Budget to develop public-private Medicaid forecasting models.

HB 2806 - Programs for impaired practitioners – Provides for an impaired medical practitioners rehabilitation program.

HB 64 - Performance and payment bonds – Increases the amount of required bid, payment, and performance bonds from $100,000 to $300,000 for transportation-related projects to assist smaller road builders.
